Whole First-Floor Remodel, In-Law Suite & Garage Conversion in Gilbertsville, PA

This Gilbertsville family needed more room without moving. We reworked their entire first floor: a new kitchen, a private in-law suite with its own full bath and laundry, a two-car garage turned into a bright living room with its own entrance, a new staircase, and all-new windows. Every room was done by our own crew, with all permits pulled.

What we did: kitchen remodel · in-law suite · new full bathroom · laundry room · walk-in closet · garage conversion · new powder room · new entrance · foyer & staircase · family room · all-new windows · flooring throughout

Kitchen

Dated cherry cabinets and a cramped island came out. In went sage-green shaker cabinets to the ceiling with crown molding, white quartz counters wrapping into a seating peninsula, a floor-to-ceiling pantry wall around the refrigerator, and a custom shiplap wood hood over a floral mosaic backsplash.

In-Law Suite

We relocated the bathroom to turn the old living and dining rooms into a self-contained in-law suite: a large bedroom and sitting area with new lighting and windows, a full walk-in closet, its own full bathroom, and a laundry room with washer and dryer hookups.

The new full bath has a double vanity with a quartz top and twin mirrors, a tiled walk-in shower with a sliding glass door, and patterned porcelain floor tile.

Garage Conversion

The garage doors came out and the opening was framed in with new siding and windows. Inside, we finished the space with drywall, recessed lighting and new flooring, added a new powder room, and built a new side entrance so the room has its own door. What used to be a two-car garage is now a bright family living room.

Foyer & Staircase

We replaced the dated railing with a stained oak newel post and handrail, square white balusters, and stained treads over white risers with a patterned runner, then carried the new plank flooring through the foyer and into the kitchen.

Family Room

New plank flooring, recessed lighting and fresh paint, all flowing straight off the new kitchen peninsula. To finish the job, we replaced the windows throughout the house.
